Promotion Information

We are thrilled to be able to hold in-person Promotion ceremonies to honor our 8th grade hybrid and IVA students on Friday, June 4th. Guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) and the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) will allow us to celebrate this important milestone with students, parents and staff, while also preventing the spread of COVID-19.  We will have a two hour gap between ceremonies so we can prevent mixing across attendees and can clean and sanitize our common areas of school.

Hybrid A-L students will participate in a ceremony from 8:00 - 9:00 (and they should report to school for 7:30).  Hybrid M-Z students will participate in a ceremony from 11:00 - 12:00 (and they should report to school for 10:30).  Finally, our IVA students will participate in a ceremony from 2:00 - 3:00 (and they should report to school for 1:30).   Please help us better prepare for each ceremony by RSVP-ing using this form no later than Friday, May 21st.

Each student will be permitted to have two guests total attend the ceremony, e.g. two parents or one parent and one grandparent or one parent and one sibling, etc.  We understand that this may be difficult for some families who wish to have more family and friends present.  In collaboration with the district IT department, we will be live streaming the event for family and friends that will not be able to attend the ceremony in person. See the details below about live streaming.

To make this event possible, we will need everyone’s support and cooperation.  We have an amazing and supportive community and we know that, with your help, we will be able to gather to witness this wonderful occasion and keep everyone safe and healthy.  Guests can use our lunch tables for seating, and we also encourage people to bring their own lawn chairs.  To get a visual of the set-up along with some reminders about expectations, please access this video.
