Social & Emotional

School counselors help middle school students with their social and emotional needs by offering support during times of change and transition. They provide a safe space to talk, teach coping skills, and guide students through challenges like making friends and managing stress. This support helps students grow into confident and emotionally healthy individuals. 

  • Helps students navigate through friendship changes
  • Helps mediate any issues between students and teachers 
  • Provides individual interventions for personal challenges with family or private life (divorce, grief, health, self-esteem)
  • Crisis Interventions (anxiety, behavior management, risk assessments)
  • Group Interventions (counseling, conflict mediation, substance abuse information)
  • Acts as a student support liaison and case carrier for students with Section 504 Accommodation Plans
